Can the goalkeeper handle the ball outside the box?
Goalkeeper hands only work inside the penalty area.
Handling privileges apply only within the area the keeper is defending. A keeper who rushes out and handles outside the line commits a direct free kick offence — or a if it happens inside the area but outside the goal. Sweeper-keepers who play high must be careful at the edge of the box.
