Does possession percentage matter?
Possession doesn't win games — what you do with it does.
Possession is a descriptive stat, not a performance metric. Barcelona's tiki-taka eras posted 70%+ regularly, but counter-attacking teams deliberately cede possession. What matters is what you do with the ball — progressive passes, chances created, and territorial control tell a richer story.
