How is stoppage time calculated?
Stoppage time now accounts for every goal, sub, and VAR check.
Since 2022/23, referees more transparently account for goals, subs, injuries, checks, and delays. often exceeds the traditional 2-3 minutes. The board shows minimum additional time — play can extend further if more delays occur during itself.
