How do substitutions work?
Five subs in three windows — modern football rotates more than ever.
The five- rule changed squad management — managers can refresh legs and change tactics more freely. Substitution windows mean you can make multiple changes at once and it counts as one window. Halftime doesn't count as a window. Unused subs stay on the bench.
